Firefly Chapter 3
January 11, 2007
1. I really can't stand to be cold and I am especially not fond of February through March or indoor places that prefer for it to feel like February when the temperature outside is a perfectly acceptable 75-85 degrees.
2. I adore warm spring days especially when I can find a patch of sun and throw down a blanket in the grass to nap upon.
3. I can't stand to wear anything binding about my waist. I have always found pants and especially jeans horribly uncomfortable.
4. My favorite dresses have pleats at the waist and not gathers. Elasticized waists are out of the question. They don't seem to know their rightful place about my waist.
5. I can't stand hair in my face. My hair tends to fall forward giving me a Cousin It appearance and bangs bother me. I am very content wearing my hair up in a bun.

6. I deal daily in Boston Terrier emissions. Banjo makes up for it, though, as a radiant lap warmer.
7. I spend my days with two girls who are presently competing to see who can sing "la" the longest and the loudest. Clara appears to be winning.
8. I am always hovering between wanting a best friend and wanting to be left alone. A best friend is hard work. A friendship like that requires a large emotional investment (not to mention quite an investment of time). Of course, lacking a best friend often leaves me lonesome. And yet I like being alone. Whatever shall I do?
9. I think that sometimes when one has a family and a church family, one's life is full enough without having a best friend. God fills the gaps. There's no better investment of emotion and time than in Him.
10. Today is the day our Christmas tree is coming down. Before it takes root.

11. Don't poke your eyes out because you had to see another Christmas picture. It's okay. It's coming down. Really.
12. My favorite holiday is Easter even though we don't celebrate it in the church. We prefer to celebrate Christ risen every day of the year and not tie it to one specific day of the year. I still like the idea of a day to celebrate spring, though. After having made it through February and March, I feel much blessed when spring arrives.
13. If I don't get off of here right now, my husband will be very disappointed to see the tree still decorated and standing in our living room and I might have to post another picture of it, so I bid you farewell!
4:40 Update: Ding! Dong! The tree is gone! Yippee!

Congrats on getting the tree down! How does the space look now that it's gone? Roomier? Empty? Lonely?
I hear you about the lack of best friends. That's why I'm a writer. Fictional characters are great friends; you can tell them to shut up, they never mind if you put words in their mouths, they are always up for a pig-out and when you need them to, they'll eat more than you, gain more weight than you, have jeans that are more uncomfortable... you name it.
Now that you're convinced I'm totally looney... have a great TT and enjoy that tree being down!

Great list! I'm not a big elastic waist fan either but I'm stuck with them as long as I'm pregnant.
My Christmas tree is still up and it's not going anywhere anytime soon. DH is mostly out of town and I'm not in any physical shape to drag the boxes around and put everything away. And I just don't have the heart to take it down just yet. Does that make you feel better? :)

Have a wonderful Thursday
My TT is posted
No binding waists. NO! hair in the face. Yes to family and church family and GOD filling in the gaps of friendship.

You are so normal. I like you.
(I know you're thinking you're NOT normal. I was just thinking, "How do I hide from her that I'M not normal?) :)
# 7 and #10 made me laugh!
good list, thanks for sharing with us!

i love this list! thanks for sharing these thoughts!
i totally relate to #1 and 2! while shoveling snow this morning, i was thinking that next week's TT might be "how i cope with winters in utah".
i also relate to #8 - although i do find great joy in some of the women i know, i don't have the energy for a lot of relationships, especially those that are "forced" upon me through circumstances, and i definitely need my private time (away from even family!).
my tree managed to get down on sunday, but i still haven't vacuumed the floor in that spot and put the furniture back in its regular position; a task for today, i guess!
easter is my favorite holiday too!
happy belated TT!

Thanks for dropping by my T13!
Re bestfriends: My hubby is my bestfriend! I do miss my girl-bestfriends back home in the Philippines (I am now living in Canada) and spending fun time with them , but it's okay . At least the internet makes it so much easier to communicate.
I also hate being cold - and this winter's been tough. I sometimes can't get warm, even under blankets. I've been trying some thyroid supplements.
And ditto on the best friend thing. I have a couple of friends that I love, but so often it's easier to be alone. If I don't make an effort, I know I'll turn into a hermit.

Cousin it! That's me! I have a picture of myself as a young 19 with my long brown hair in FRONT of my face and glasses on top of it. ;)
You are silly! :) I always put my hair up in a clip when I'm at home, too. I rarely wear it down around the house. I put it up with pencils, chopsticks, pens, the letter opener, and alll sorts of clips and bands.
